Talleres de formación a docentes sobre el trastorno del espectro autista en la Unidad Educativa “Miguel Moreno Ordoñez” de la ciudad de Cuenca

Abstract

Educational inclusion constitutes a fundamental axis that integrates and involves children with ASD so that they can not only interact, but also to join to the school environment. This educational research aimed to develop training workshops to the teachers of the Miguel Moreno Ordoñez Educational Unit in order to promote the inclusive process of the students with ASD diagnoses. The method applied was action research through the observation, structured interview and focus group. The participants were seven kindergarten and mentary school teachers. Among the results, it was identified that the teachers may have had students with ASD diagnoses, but a timely attention was not provided; therefore, educational or speech therapy support instruments must be provided by the training processes, taking into account that orality is not the only way to convey a message.
