Abstract

To understand the importance of the location for architecture, it is necessary to study it. To plan without having a location in mind, is an incorrect way of doing it. Without a doubt, in the time that we live in, in our city, we can see how professional architects have lost the sensibility of the location, they plan at random, without analyzing the context. This essay comes from the necessity to realize that the location be an essential part in the planning of an architectural project. It will be through an analysis of the works of Le Corbusier, the reader will get to know how he approached his work in a specific location. This essay will serve as study material for students, teachers, and architectural planners. The thesis of the essay is structured so that at first one can become familiar with the relationship that should exist between the location and architecture, later with the biography and the periods of intervention of the architect, Le Corbusier. Further, there is an analysis and re-drawing of the selected works. Finally, various tables will demonstrate the conclusions of the existent relationship between the works and their location.
