| Abstract: | The main objective of the research was to analyzed the radiation dosage, fluoroscopic time in hemodynamic procedures performed at the “Jose Carrasco Arteaga” hospital located in the Cuenca, during the period of January – December 2012.
The retrospective and descriptive methodology was used. The research was performed in a total of 300 patients’ records that were treated in the hemodynamic department. It was determined that 93% of the patients received a radiation dosage lower than 1mSv and only 7% was greater than 1mSv.
The most frequent hemodynamic procedure was the Coronariography with 31% and the combined Coronariography / angioplasty with stent corresponded to 8%.
The largest time range for fluoroscopy was 1-20 minutes with 91% of the patients. The 2% of the range corresponded to 40-60 minutes, meanwhile 57% of the patients it was found a range of 1-20 minutes. Only 4% of the range was greater than 80 minutes.
It was found that most patients treated was in an age range of 61 to 80 years old (at 51%), whereas only 5% corresponded to a range greater than 80 years old.
The most frequency of patients treated belongs to males with 65%.

| Description: | El objetivo principal de la investigación fue analizar la dosis de radiación, tiempo fluoroscópico en procedimientos en hemodinámica, en el hospital “José Carrasco Arteaga” en el Cantón Cuenca, durante el periodo enero – diciembre del año 2012.
El método utilizado fue de tipo descriptivo, retrospectivo. El estudio investigativo se realizó en un universo de 300 fichas de pacientes que fueron intervenidos en el departamento de hemodinámica. Se determinó que el 93% de los pacientes recibieron una dosis de radiación inferior a 1mSv y en un el 7% fue mayor a 1mSv.
El procedimiento hemodinámico más frecuente como estudio único fue la Coronariografía (31%) y como procedimiento combinado la Coronariografía / angioplastia con stent (8%).
El mayor rango de tiempo fluoroscópico fue de 1-20 minutos (91%). Para el 2% en el rango fue entre los 40-60 minutos, el 57% de los pacientes se encontró en un rango de tiempo de procedimiento entre 1-20 minutos. Y el 4% en el rango mayor a 80 minutos.
Se determinó que el mayor porcentaje de pacientes intervenidos en el departamento se encontraba en el rango de edad de 61 a 80 años (51%), y el 5% mayor a 80 años.
El mayor porcentaje de pacientes intervenidos perteneció al sexo masculino (65%).
