Selección del repertorio vocal: análisis de la melodía

Abstract

The vocal repertoire has to be selected wisely in order to care the singer´s vocal health and also helping to the singer to improve his/her vocal technique improving his/her artistic conditions. Among the issues a singer technically faces is the melody, which is determined by three basic components: vocal register, passages, and phrasing. This research performs a study and an analysis of these basic components with emphasize on the lyrical singing addressed for teachers or advance students. Also, this work includes a set of rubrics –selected by categories– in order to give academic guidelines and allow a successful selection vocal repertoire to be performed.
