Actualización de un Plan de Desarrollo Turístico para la parroquia Güel, en el cantón Sígsig

Abstract

This paper addresses the updating of the Tourism Development Plan for the rural parish of Güel, located in the canton of Sígsig, province of Azuay. The main objective is to promote local tourism by identifying and valuing tourist attractions, both natural and cultural. Participatory methodologies, including community workshops with local actors, were implemented to ensure that the proposed strategies reflect local needs and aspirations. The project seeks to promote sustainable economic development, improve the quality of life of the inhabitants and conserve the cultural heritage of the parish. The results show a high tourism potential in Güel, highlighting the need for adequate infrastructure, training and effective promotion to attract visitors and consolidate the parish as an emerging tourist destination in the region.
