Evaluación de las indicaciones postoperatorias en pacientes colecistectomizados por colelitiasis en el Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo. Febrero-Julio 2024

Abstract

Background: Biliary pathology occurs with a high prevalence and is resolved surgically (cholecystectomy). In some patients, post-surgical complications occur and because of this it is essential that professionals master the instructions to follow after a cholecystectomy. Objective: to evaluate postoperative indications in patients undergoing cholecystectomy for cholelithiasis at the Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital. 2024. Method: a descriptive study was carried out. The final sample was 83 participants. Central tendency statistics and dispersion statistics were used. The data were presented with frequency tables (n) and percentages (%). Results: the majority were women (67.1%), the majority were between 25-59 years old (86.8%). 66.3% of cases were laparoscopic cholecystectomies. The indications that are met are: 90.4% for respiratory therapy, 97.6% for non-pharmacological treatment, 96.4% for wound care indications, 24.1% for adding fiber to the diet, 10.8 % for treatment and prevention of nausea and vomiting, 36.1% for use of antibiotics, 94% for restriction of daily activities, 98.8% for restriction of physical activity. The most frequently prescribed diet was the soft low-fat diet (89.2%). 84.3% of specialists used paracetamol as initial analgesic therapy. Conclusion: a discrepancy in the age of intervention has been identified, as well as divergences in the indications for the addition of fiber and the treatment of nausea and vomiting. There are good practices in respiratory therapy, non-pharmacological treatment and wound care, but excessive use of low-fat diet is observed
