Determinación de los grados de severidad de colecistitis aguda según las guías de Tokio 2018 en pacientes atendidos en el servicio de emergencia del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso, periodo enero 2023 – junio 2023

Abstract

Background: Acute cholecystitis is due to the formation of stones in the gallbladder causing acute abdomen, which requires timely diagnosis and treatment. Objective: To determine the degrees of severity of acute cholecystitis according to the 2018 Tokyo Guidelines in patients who were seen in the emergency department of the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital during the period January 2023 - June 2023. Methodology: A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out, with the participation of 40 patients attended in the emergency department of the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital, from January 2023 to June 2023 with acute cholecystitis. Data were collected by a form developed by the authors and analyzed with Epidata 4.2 and Microsoft Excel 2019. Means, standard deviation, frequencies and percentages were determined. Results: The mean age was 42.55 years with ±16.28 standard deviation and the majority were women representing 77.5%. The main diagnosis was acute cholecystitis with 52.5% and 42.5% was associated with cholelithiasis. None of the patients presented systemic complications and 67.5% presented local signs of inflammation. The 72.5% evolved in less than 72 hours and 60% were mild cases. The 87.5% of the cases were treated before 72 hours and 95% with laparoscopic technique. Conclusions: acute cholecystitis is more common between 20-40 years of age, in women and in most cases, it is classified as mild, with an evolution time of less than 72 hours and mostly laparoscopic cholecystectomy is applied
