Modelo de gestión de turismo rural con base comunitaria para el Mirador Turístico El Boquerón en la parroquia Turi, cantón Cuenca

Abstract

The present intervention work proposes the design of a community-based rural tourism management model for the El Boquerón Tourist Viewpoint, located in the Turi parish, Cuenca canton. The proposal had a qualitative approach of exploratory scope, in which 3 objectives were established: the first one was the situational diagnosis of the study area, where the generalities of the place were analyzed, the Association of Tourist Services El Boquerón that is in charge of the place and bibliographic review referring to rural tourism and community base. To achieve the second objective, the main actors were identified, through the use of the sociogram tool, semi-structured interviews were also conducted with members of the Association of Tourist Services El Boquerón, representatives of public entities related to the development of tourism in canton Cuenca and visitors, with the intention of knowing the management of the tourist attraction, the existing relationships and the perception of the visitor. These variables will lay the foundations for the formulation of the management model. For the third objective, the tourism management model was established according to the needs of the territory, from which three areas to be considered emerge: operational area, environmental and socio-organizational management. To this end, guidelines are proposed for the association to efficiently manage human and environmental resources, in order to generate a positive impact on the development of tourism.
