Perspectiva de tiempo futuro en adolescentes estudiantes del segundo y tercero de bachillerato de la Unidad Educativa Manuel J. Calle, Cuenca-Azuay, período 2021

Abstract

Future Time Perspective is defined as the human being's view of upcoming events. In adolescence, concerns about personal identity, decision making, aspirations, goals and objectives about what will happen in the future begin. The goal of this research was to analyze the dimensions of future time perspectives held by the students of the second and third year of highschool of the Unidad Educativa del Milenio Manuel J. Calle, in the 2021 period. The research followed a quantitative approach with descriptive scope, crosssectional and non-experimental design. A total of 139 students between 16 and 19 years of age participated, who were administered the Future Time Perspective questionnaire and a sociodemographic form to identify data on sex, socioeconomic level and school year. The results indicated that the students are focused on the future, actively plan for it and tend to imagine life in the future. Regarding temporal extension, there is a marked interest in what will happen later in their lives in terms of Academics, Economic-Acquisition, Life Expectancy and Labor. In conclusion, in this research it was observed that the participants were focused on posterity and had a quite marked interest in it, likewise, significant differences were evidenced in terms of sex, with women being more concerned than men in the Economic-Acquisitive and Academic aspects. In prospective, it would be interesting to be able to collect broader information within the context in which the study was carried out with the aim of obtaining other results that contrast or confirm those obtained in this research
