Abstract

This monograph is based on research, about a material that is used and applied in architecture and interior design, in the province of Azuay, this material is Cojitambo hill stone, in the province of Canar. The research aims to identify the different forms of use, aesthetic forms and characteristics Cojitambo stone, called andesite. The intention is to demonstrate a more successful use of the material and also give different proposals that are aesthetically good and generate positive for our interior spaces. Since the stone forms part of the building materials used in the middle and is also the most primitive material exists used by man to establish what in over the years would become his home and place of coexistence. While having a stone quarry in particular in the area and saw a need for research to know how it is extracted, sold, and used the material, and finally to open more possibilities of commercial forms and transfer them to interior design
