Respuesta de cóleos (Plectranthus scutellarioides) a enmiendas edáficas con biocarbon obtenido a partir de la biomasa residual de eucalipto

Abstract

In an integrated approach to reduce the use of substrates imported into the area of the ornamentation using biochar, this research called "Response of cóleos (Plectranthus scutellarioides) to amendments of soil of biocarbón obtained from residual biomass of eucalyptus" was carried out. The work was conducted in Cuenca, in the vivariums of the company EMAC-EP located in Yanaturo. Its objective was to assess the effectiveness of the biochar through the productivity of plants of coleus and the response on the ground as improver of soil conditions. To conduct the study, a design of complete blocks at random with 5 treatments to evaluate the agronomic variables and the physical chemical soil was used. Findings showed that the addition of biochar increased the growth of plants. With a dose of biochar of 10% was obtained the best average compared to the variables height, aerial biomass, weight of the root, size of sheets and the diameter of the stem. In regard to the physico-chemical properties is demonstrated that the biochar does not always raise the pH levels. While the electrical conductivity, organic matter, the apparent density and the saturation point were statistically different between treatments.
