Educación inicial, interculturalidad y contexto escolar en el centro educativo Antonio Borrero Vega de la ciudad de Cuenca

Abstract

The present work of Thesis consists in a reflection about the Educational practice in Initial level and its relation with an Intercultural Pedagogical Approach. In that way, we have placed our study in a specific context such as the “Antonio Borrero Vega” Initial Education Center in the Cuenca city which has 167 infants between the ages from three to five years old in total. The main questions have been aimed at understanding of the challenges and the possibilities presented in this work at the Initial Education level with respect to a proposal for Intercultural Orientation. We have addressed theoretical aspects and conceptual perspectives on Initial Education and Interculturality. In the same way, we make an observation and reflection about: the Pedagogical model in Initial, outlined by various institutional entities; the organization of the teacher team to works in this Center; characteristics of the Educational practice at the Initial level and finally, axes and elements that can contribute in an intercultural educational perspective in this context. This thesis are based on an Investigation based on an ethnographic methodology, according to which we make direct daily observations about the pedagogical development in this specific Institution. Furthermore, the study is supported by information obtained directly from an interview and survey that enabled us to obtain and understand diverse points of view in parents, as well as the meaning that the teaching team attributes to their own work.
