Diseño de un Sistema de Gestión en Seguridad y Salud Ocupacional, aplicando la Norma ISO 45001, para el Instituto Superior Tecnológico Sucre, ubicado en el Distrito Metropolitano de Quito

Abstract

In Ecuador, there is a deficiency of preventive management in the Higher Technological Institutes, for this reason it raised the objective of designing an Occupational Health and Safety Management System, applying the ISO 45001 standard, for the IST Sucre, carrying out a descriptive study Transversal of deductive character and with stratified probabilistic sampling, the survey was applied to 25 teachers and 287 students, where it was identified that 57.93% do not have knowledge about the SSO management systems, 91.26% mention not having received training Regarding risk prevention, 96.76% do not have personal protective equipment, this information was contrasted with the expectations of the staff, which 22.01% are interested in being part of the preventive programs. At the same time, hazard identification and risk estimation were carried out, applying the Colombian Technical Guide GTC 45, where it was obtained that 52% of evaluated positions present a Level III (acceptable) risk, while 39% of positions evaluated have a Level II risk, (Not Acceptable or Acceptable with specific control). Finally, 9% corresponds to a Level IV risk (Acceptable). The context analysis showed that IST Sucre does not have policies or regulations that allow comprehensive management of the risks inherent in the activities carried out in the institution, allowing the design of preventive processes as fundamental pillars of the security management system and occupational health of IST Sucre, based on ISO 45001.
