Valores formales en la vivienda republicana del siglo XX. Guayaquil. Caso de estudio: Las Peñas, Calle Numa Pompilio Llona

Abstract

The present work raises the recognition of the formal values funded in a sample of tradicional republican buildings typologies in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador. This architecture has been analized, based in it’s historical values, cataloged and eventually restored, but its formal values must be analyze with objectivity. The results of this investigation should serve to rescue and value these architectural typologies examples, so they do not get lost in the course of time. Also, these notions of design and construction can be useful in the processes of teaching and disciplinary learning, since the search for the universal, through the recognition of their mathematic geometric relationships, the construction systems and the place, allowing the clearly understanding in how the form that characterizes them had be constructed. The construction has been–and is, at present–the essential concept of architecture: it is not necessary to insist, then, the constructive systematics -of the matter and the form- is the attribute of the project that determines the identity of the object and, with it, its quality of work of art.
