Creación de personaje a partir de la noción de introspección en la técnica de William Layton partiendo del personaje “Popova” de la obra El Oso de Antón Chéjov

Abstract

The undergrad work presented here reproduces the Popova character from the play El Oso written by Anton Chejov. El Oso tells the story of a woman called Elena Popova who lost her husband seven months prior to the beginning of the story. She promised to mourn the death of his beloved husband for the rest of her life. Prior to the main character creation and the staging, the actress studied the principles, theatrical laboratory methods and the notion and introspection technique proposed by William Layton. These techniques aimed at learning to represent Popova and to get quality work for the development of a monologue. The training sessions were achieved through improvisation exercises performed by the actress. The objective of doing this was to give the actress the possibility of applying the concepts and experiences from herself and to transmit her emotions to the audience
