Evaluación del desarrollo psicomotor en niños de 2-6 meses de edad, Hospital del Día Azogues, Cuenca 2017-2018

Abstract

BACKGROUND: The early detection of alterations in the development of children allows an early and adequate intervention providing the possibility of improving their evolution, for this reason it is important to perform screening test of psychomotor development in the child population in a timely. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To determine the alterations in psychomotor development in children aged 2-6 months of the Hospital del Día Azogues. • METHODOLOGY: A descriptive study was done, applied to children 2-6 months of age in the area of Pediatrics and Early Stimulation of the Hospital del Día Azogues, as well as a data collection form that will be delivered to parents and application of the Denver II. The analysis of the data will be carried out by means of descriptive statistics with frequencies and percentages, represented by tables through the software IBM SPSS Statistics 15 free version. • CONCLUSION: In our investigation according to the results of the Denver II Screening it was found that 61.7% presented a normal result, 31.7% with an abnormal result and 6.7% a doubtful result. In the range of 2 to 5 months normality prevailed, however, in the 6-month group the abnormal result predominated (47.1%). There was not statistically significant relationship between the level of development and the sex and age variables. USE OF THE RESULT: The results obtained in this research will provide information to students and professionals at the end of the area for future research.
