Características de las enfermedades de transmisión sexual en pacientes atendidos en el Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga, durante el periodo de enero del 2013 - abril del 2015

Abstract

OBJETIVE: Determine the characteristics of sexually transmitted diseases in patients attending the Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga, during the period January 2013 to April 2015. MATERIALS AND METHODS: It was a type of descriptive study, the method used was review of medical records, the instrument used was a form which allowed record information for later analysis and organization in statistical tables. V SPSS 15.0 software was used, in which a database with the information obtained was created, tables followed by analysis through statistical measures were used: frequency distribution and percentage. RESULTS: Of the 145 patients, in terms of age and sex; in males the young adults had 52.08% more often and the female adult category was 52.00%. In the male and female the most common marital status they were married representing 65% and 60.82%. The STI more prevalent in males is mollusk contagious 33.33% and female 52.58% trichomoniasis.
