Protesta contra el femicidio y la violencia de género por medios artísticos en la red y espacios públicos

Abstract

The present work has as main motivation to merge art with activism, more specifically Applied Art with Illustrative Art (digital) and cyber activism, our primary objective is to create sensitivity and raise awareness about the problem of femicide and gender violence. Art through history has positioned the struggle and the presence of artistic expressions in favor of human rights, which in recent years have gained greater strength with female artists and authors who have highlighted the empowerment of women through their works, created from their own personal perspective as women, against the patriarchal and sexist society. In Ecuador, as in other parts of the world, femicide is something that happens every day, but it was not paid the necessary attention to the point that it became a standard reality; with the work of activists led by feminist groups and related institutions worldwide, great advances were achieved, as the inclusion of the figure of femicide in our country COIP. There are many ways to deal with this problem, from our personal vision, we decided to use art as a mean of protest and denunciation, without resorting to crude and bloody expressions (which have become common and are no longer able to move people) we addressed this issue in a subtle but profound way that has raised awareness and invite reflection to the viewers
