Abstract: 
The continuous evolution of communication technologies has facilitated the modernization, automation, and digitalization of industrial networks. However, integrating new devices into existing networks can be challenging due to the diversity of communication protocols and components of the physical layer. This work presents a management model to address this issue by enabling the integration of various technologies into SCADA systems through a programmable automation controller (PAC) that utilizes the OPC protocol to handle communication heterogeneity. This paper describes crucial processes for improved interoperability and seamless information exchange in industrial networks. To validate and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed solution, an industrial network of a microgrid laboratory is used as a practical application case. The study highlights the successful implementation of the solution, which makes it a suitable approach to improve the integration of technologies within industrial networks.
