| dc.description | Los subproductos agroindustriales no aprovechados en la cadena productiva principal o después de la manufactura, son eliminados al medio ambiente y tras su fermentación aeróbica generan gases contaminantes provocando alteraciones medio ambientales que amenazan el ecosistema mundial. Los residuos como los tallos y las hojas que no son aptos para la comercialización, conforman una parte considerable tienen potencial para ser incluidos ampliamente en la industria de alimentos en los cobayos. Por otro lado, el uso de técnicas in vitro para determinación de la digestibilidad de los alimentos en cuyes es limitada y no estandarizada, por lo tanto, el objetivo de este estudió fue evaluar el valor nutritivo de los subproductos agroindustriales e implementación de una técnica in vitro para la determinación de la digestibilidad de la materia seca en cobayos. Los subproductos mostraron contenidos de 13, 7,5, 50 y 29 % de proteína bruta, extractos etéreos, extractos libres de nitrógeno y fibra bruta, respectivamente. Los nutrientes totalmente digeribles fueron alrededor del 80% con contenidos en energía metabolizable entre 3549 kcal EM/kg de MS y 3928 kcal EM/kg de MS en todos los subproductos agroindustriales. | dc.description.abstract | Agro-industrial by-products that are not used in the main production chain are eliminated into the environment and generate polluting gases, causing environmental alterations. Stems and leaves that are not suitable for commercialization make up a considerable part and have the potential to be widely included in the guinea pig feed industry. On the other hand, the use of in vitro techniques to determine the digestibility of feed in guinea pigs is limited and not standardized, therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the nutritional value of agro-industrial by-products and implement an in vitro technique to determine the digestibility of dry matter on guinea pigs. The by- products showed contents of 13, 7.5, 50 and 29% of crude protein, ether extracts, nitrogen-free extracts and crude fiber, respectively. Total digestible nutrients were around 80% with metabolizable energy contents between 3549 kcal ME/kg of DM and 3928 kcal ME/kg of DM in all agro-industrial by-products.
