| dc.description | Los implantes dentales se utilizan habitualmente para sustituir los dientes perdidos, sin embargo, las preocupaciones asociadas a los componentes de los implantes y las prótesis están bien establecidas. Las fracturas de los tornillos que soportan el pilar del implante pueden generar situaciones clínicas complicadas. El objetivo de este artículo es presentar un protocolo accesible y mínimamente invasivo para recuperar tornillos de pilares de implantes fracturados. Este estudio presenta una técnica no invasiva y fácil de realizar que utiliza un instrumento manual (bastoncillo de algodón para limpiar los oídos) sin riesgo de dañar las roscas y las características externas del implante. El bastoncillo de algodón se adhiere micromecánicamente al fragmento fracturado del tornillo, lo que facilita una extracción manual suave sin causar daños a las roscas del implante. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Dental implants are commonly used to replace missing teeth, however concerns associated with implant and prosthetic components are well-established. Fractures of the screws supporting the implant abutment can generate complicated clinical situations. The aim of this article is to present an accessible and minimally invasive protocol to recover fractured implant abutment screws. This study presents a non-invasive, easy-to-perform technique that uses a hand-held instrument (ear cleaning cotton swab) without the risk of damage the threads and external characteristics of the implant. The cotton swab adheres micromechanically to the fractured fragment of the screw, facilitating gentle extraction by hand without causing damage to the implant threads. | en_US |
