Nivel de conocimiento en atención integral a víctimas de violencia basada en género en médicos rurales de la provincia de Morona Santiago, 2023

Abstract

Background: gender-based violence constitutes a public health problem that undermines the right to a life free of violence. General Objective: determine the level of knowledge in comprehensive care for victims of gender-based violence in doctors who are taking the year of rural health in the Province of Morona Santiago in 2023. Methods: research with a quantitative, observational, descriptive cross-sectional approach. The sample was censusbased, information was collected through a 36-question questionnaire previously validated based on the opinion of five experts, aimed at 51 of the 53 projected participants. To determine the association between variables, the data were analyzed with the chi square statistic (p<0.05-95% CI) using Epidat 4.2 and SPSS v 24. Results: the levels of knowledge in caring for victims of physical, psychological and sexual violence were predominantly low (56.86%, 72.55% and 60.78%, respectively); and, a statistical association was found between the level of knowledge in caring for victims of physical violence and sex (p= 0.04); and, between the level of knowledge in caring for victims of psychological violence and marital status (p=0.022). Conclusion: the level of knowledge in comprehensive care for victims of violence of the participating doctors is low. A statistical association was found between the level of knowledge in care for victims of physical violence and sex; and, between the level of knowledge in caring for victims of psychological violence and marital status.
