Satisfacción con la vida y funcionamiento familiar en los estudiantes de la Carrera de Trabajo Social de la Universidad de Cuenca, período 2023-2024

Abstract

The life satisfaction can be negatively affected when students experience difficulties in their family functioning. For example, if there are constant conflicts at home, lack of emotional support, or if students feel misunderstood or undervalued by their families, it is likely that their life satisfaction will be affected. On the other hand, family functioning can also be affected by the life satisfaction of the students. If students are dealing with personal or emotional problems, this can affect their ability to function properly within the family environment. For this reason, the purpose of the research was to describe life satisfaction and family functioning in students of the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Cuenca. The methodological process is based on a quantitative research with a descriptive scope, in which two instruments were used: the Life Satisfaction Scale and the Brief Family Functioning Scale Faces 20esp Adapted, applied to a sample of 140 students from the studied population. The research results revealed that 32.1% of the students were dissatisfied, while 35.7% of the students were at a level of agglutinated cohesion. Regarding adaptability, a structured level was obtained in 33.6% of the students.
