| dc.description | En los países tropicales de América Central y del Sur solo crecen unas pocas especies de plantas que producen polen alergénico, y estas no están ampliamente distribuidas, a excepción de las gramíneas que, por lo demás, tienen un débil poder sensibilizante. La producción de pólenes de gramíneas es muy limitada en alta montaña debido a la falta de floración de dichas plantas. Las especies más importantes corresponden a las familias Amaranthaceae, Chenopodiaceae y Compositae. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | In the tropical countries of Central and South America there grow only a few species of plants that produce allergenic pollen, and these are not widely distributed, with the exception of the grasses which otherwise have a feeble sensitizing power. The output of pollens from grasses is very limited in the high mountains because of the lack of flowering of such plants.
