En la mayoría de pacientes que su- fren de hipersensibilidad dentinal se presenta como un dolor episódico, agudo de corta duración, muy molesto y en muchas ocasiones puede ser insoportable. Existe gran confusión sobre el diagnóstico, etiología y los me- canismos de la hipersensibilidad dentinal, por lo tanto los profesionales carecen de la confianza para manejar dicha condición de manera eficaz. Most patients suffering from dentinal hypersensitivity is presented as a breakthrough pain, acute short-term, very annoying and often can be unbearable. There is great confusión about the diagnosis, etiology and me- chanisms of dentinal hypersensitivity, therefore profes- sionals lack the confidence to manage this condition effectívely.
