Estudio de factibilidad para la creación de un hotel con servicio de turismo de salud para pacientes con cáncer, en la ciudad de Cuenca

Abstract

The city of Cuenca has professional medical specialists who are recognized inside and outside the country. In addition, it offers several health centers such as clinics, hospitals, etc., with modern infrastructure and state-of-the-art equipment to treat different diseases such as cancer, which is one of the conditions with the highest mortality rate. This fact has allowed this city to be in demand within the area of medical tourism. The Society to Fight Cancer (SOLCA) is an Institute that receives a large number of people with this disease. By having medical specialists in oncology within this area and offering equipment that favors the recovery of these patients, many people travel from other cities with the aim of recovering their health. In the city of Cuenca, there is no hotel that is focused on medical tourism, especially for people with cancer. This target requires special facilities, because they are not the same as a regular tourist or traveler, because their psychological and social conditions influence their state of mind due to the same disease. This project seeks to know the feasibility of offering a hotel that is focused on medical tourism, especially for cancer patients and their companions who are outside the city of Cuenca.
