Prescripcion de dietas en pacientes hospitalizados en el servicio de medicina interna del Hospital Isidro Ayora de la ciudad de Loja durante los meses de enero a marzo del 2022

Abstract

Background: The prescription of diets is a process that involves all the necessary actions to guarantee the feeding of the hospitalized patient, being necessary to identify and specify all the energy and nutritional requirements of the individual who is hospitalized, in addition to the composition of the diet that will be served together. with changes in the shape and appearance of the food that will be prepared, which must be in accordance with the nutritional status and pathology of the patient. Target: To analyze the prescription of diets in hospitalized patients in the Internal Medicine Service of the Isidro Ayora Hospital in Loja in the period from January to March 2022 Method: Intentional and convenience descriptive qualitative study that was carried out in the Internal Medicine service of the Isidro Ayora Hospital in Loja, with the participation of the Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Infectology, Oncology, Neurology and Nephrology specialists who visited In the period from January to March 2022, the information was obtained from an unstructured interview addressed to the doctors. Results: The diet prescription of the treating physician is in accordance with the pathologies and nutritional needs of the hospitalized patient with acute or chronic pathologies. Conclusions: The specialist doctors of the Internal Medicine service of the Isidro Ayora Hospital in Loja are the ones who prescribe the hospital diet to the patient, under a technical dimension with their general knowledge about food and nutrition, according to their pathologies and not their nutritional status
