Políticas sociales y seguridad laboral de los vendedores ambulantes en la ciudad de Cuenca

Abstract

Street sales have been considered a problem for cities, such is the case for Cuenca, where the presence of informal vendors has increased. For this reason, the research objective is to analyze the social and occupational safety policies of street vendors in the city of Cuenca for the normalization and regularization of their activities. In this sense, an exploratory and descriptive research methodology with a quantitative approach is proposed, so that a survey directed at street vendors is proposed with the intention of knowing their perception regarding the activities they carry out. The results indicated socioeconomic conditions that place them in segments of priority attention, as they do not have access to health care, strenuous work hours and low remuneration for the subsistence of a family that demands payment for housing, education and other household expenses.
