Automedicación contra el acné en estudiantes de primero y segundo de bachillerato de la Unidad Educativa Mixta Particular Sagrados Corazones durante el periodo lectivo septiembre 2021- junio 2022

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Acne is a highly prevalent dermatological condition worldwide that mainly affects the adolescent population. The search for solutions to this problem, which generates discomfort as much as physically and emotionally in patients, has led to an increase in self-medication in this age group, supposing multiple risks to the health of those who practice it. OBJECTIVE: To determine the characteristics of the self-medication used against acne in junior and sophomore students from “Unidad Educativa Mixta Particular Sagrados Corazones” high school in the school period September 2021-June 2022. METHODOLOGY: A quantitative and cross-sectional study was carried out; the universe was made up of 168 junior and sophomore students “Unidad Educativa Mixta Particular Sagrados Corazones”. The information was collected through surveys conducted virtually prior to signing the informed consent and assent. SPSS 20 program was used for the variables analysis, the same ones that were exposed in descriptive statistics. RESULTS: Frequency tables and graphs were obtained from the data analysis, the information obtained was confidential, because codification methods were used, it was used only for research purposes and uniquely in the present study.
