Determinación de alternativas para la depuración de aguas residuales para la ciudad de Gualaceo

Abstract

The city of Gualaceo does not have wastewater treatment; wastewater is discharged directly into the Santa Bárbara River. The effects caused by this discharge directly affect the water uses of the Santa Bárbara River; it is no longer common for the city's inhabitants to carry out recreational and fishing activities in this area, and in addition to this, the discharge of wastewater without any type of treatment has an effect on public health. The purpose of this work is to characterize the wastewater in the Curantag discharge, as well as to propose wastewater treatment lines, in order to analyze and compare them according to technical, economic and social criteria for a pre-dimensioning of the best alternatives. The Municipal Water, Sewerage and Sanitation Company of Gualaceo (EMAPAS G EP), in 2016 acquired land at the discharge site, in order to implement the SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT. Therefore, a pre-sizing of both preliminary treatment; primary treatment; conventional activated sludge and lagoon system; as well as disinfection with chlorine and UV rays is performed.
