Propuesta de restauración de la Casa Hacienda Luis Cordero

Abstract

This research analyzed the Casa Hacienda Luis Cordero, as well as its context, history and importance. The building is located in the Huintul sector, Luis Cordero parish, Azogues canton. The methodology used is of a mixed type with an exploratory approach and a transversal non-experimental design, the research is based on four phases which include contextualization of the selected building and theoretical framework, analysis and diagnosis of the selected building, recognition of similar cases and the restoration proposal at the preliminary project level. The results obtained show that 32% of the house is in poor condition, so a pertinent intervention is suggested in order to avoid further deterioration and at the same time to preserve it by recovering the traditional vernacular construction system. It is suggested to promote the house as a tourist attraction, that is to say, as a facility that produces income and thus cover the maintenance costs of the house.
