Frecuencia de inducción de trabajo de parto contra manejo expectante y sus complicaciones en mujeres atendidas en el área de Ginecología en el Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso en el año 2019

Abstract

Background: Childbirth is a process in which the woman expels the fetus and the placenta at the end of the pregnancy, going through three phases, the phase of dilation, expulsion and delivery. The management of labor by the health professional can be induced or expectant, depending on the individual needs of each patient.

General objective: To determine the frequency of induction of labor and normal management and it´s complications in women treated at the obstetric area of the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital during 2019.

Methodology: A descriptive, retrospective quantitative study was carried out. The universe-sample was represented by 100 patients who attended obstetrics during labor throughout the year 2019. The data were transcribed and analyzed in the Epi Info and SPSS program through the implementation of simple and double-entry tables using frequency, mean and standard deviation.

Results: The sample was made up of 100 women, the mean age was 24 years (SD 6.86). Induced labor was present in 64% of the patients. Conclusion: It is concluded that the majority of women in labor required induction to complete delivery
