Abstract

Ageing is a phase of life, and contrary to meaning abandonment and decadence, the so-called golden years deserves to be enjoyed, therefore, a place specialized in the care, development and recreation of the elderly is inescapable, where their calmness and prosperity is prioritized and treated as a pillar of society, key factors to improve the quality of life of this age group. The design of an Assisted Residence for the Elderly, seeks the benefit of semi and self-sufficient elderly through architecture, whose approach seeks to meet their needs in a place characterized by being inclusive and universal access. Through the study of assisted residences, mostly adapted, the need for spaces that meet specific requirements of both, the user and the activity to develop was evidenced, therefore, it is imperative not only the place, but also furniture that guarantee security and wellness. Circulation between zones is an important complement, and seeks not only to guide but to avoid spatial and personal temporal disorientation. The project consists of two mirrored volumes that are harmoniously integrated into the existing landscape. The main entry is located in the first block, which houses the medical and administrative functions, leaving the largest block exclusively for the living and sharing areas of the elderly. Through comfortable spaces and materials according to the environment, brick, steel and glass are integrated, resulting in a fusion of traditional and contemporary.
