Abstract

This article is part of recycling as a development engine for the actors present in this industry, with emphasis on those who are directly involved in the paper and cardboard supply chain of the city of Cuenca. The methodology used, with quantitative-inductive character of cross-section, not experimental; It aims to use the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) Method (Saaty, 1980), on a multi-criteria analysis, using criteria adapted to realities and particularities present in the supply chain of the paper industry of Cuenca. What allows to obtain as main conclusion, a selection of criteria derived from the AHP methodology for future evaluations of an effective management of the supply chain that allows to optimize the management decision making. Finally, the importance of recyclers and intermediaries in the paper and cardboard supply chain for the industry is demonstrated; which do not prove to be highly relevant suppliers due to the amount of material they supply for the industry's production process
