¿La protección a los trabajadores en el Ecuador, afecta a economía del empleador? Caso Constructora Mejía

Abstract

ABSTRACT The present investigation arises from the need to explain whether the protection of workers in Ecuadorian legislation affects the economy of employers and, therefore, if it implies the possible closure of companies; for which the case of the Constructora Mejía of the city of Cuenca - Ecuador was analyzed. In order to meet the proposed objective, a methodology with a qualitative approach was applied, which was based on the literature review of theoretical and legal sources and in the interview with one of the former shareholders of the construction company. This paper concludes that the high costs associated with wages, benefits of law and dismissals or evictions have significantly affected the economy of the construction company Mejía and has resulted in its definitive closure.
