| dc.description | El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar los diferentes factores que inciden en el bienestar animal durante la etapa ante-mortem transcurrida en el matadero municipal de Cuenca y Paute. En el estudio se realizó una inspección visual y el empleo de formularios en los cuales estaban las variables independientes como raza, sexo, edad, origen, tiempo de transporte, hacinamiento en los vehículos, condición corporal etc. y las variables dependientes tales como caídas, color de mucosas, anormalidades al caminar. El estudio se realizó en los sectores de desembarque, corrales y mangas. El número de animales estudiados fue de 4000 bovinos, para el análisis estadístico se determinó la frecuencia, análisis de varianza, tablas de contingencia y la prueba de chi cuadrado. Se obtuvo como resultado que algunas variables estudiadas tienen relación sobre el bienestar animal tales como, el origen que está asociado significativamente sobre las variables caídas, anormalidades al caminar, color de mucosas, anormalidades en la respiración y conducta. Finalmente se concluye que existen varias anomalías a nivel de las instalaciones y manejo de los bovinos en los mataderos estudiados, lo que repercute sobre el bienestar animal | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | The objective of the study was to evaluate the different factors that affect animal welfare during the ante-mortem stage spent in the municipal slaughterhouse of Cuenca and Paute. In the study, a visual inspection and the use of forms in which were the independent variables such as race, sex, age, origin, transport time, overcrowding in vehicles, body condition etc. and the dependent variables such as falls, mucous membranes color, walking abnormalities. The study was carried out in landing, corrals and sleeves sectors. The number of animals studied was 4000 cattle, for the statistical analysis the frequency, analysis of variance, contingency tables and the chi square test were determined. It was obtained as a result that some variables studied have a relationship on animal welfare such as, the origin that is significantly associated with the fallen variables, walking abnormalities, mucous color, breathing and behavior abnormalities. Finally, it is concluded that there are several anomalies at the level of facilities and handling of cattle in the slaughterhouses studied, which impacts on animal welfare | es_ES |
