Abstract

The business model concept is nurtured from different sources and its depth differs from the field in which it is applied, its importance begins in the construction of strategic alternatives that stimulate the development of competitive advantages, with the firm purpose of positioning the company in the market and ensure its economic and social growth.

The objective of this work is to know the current situation of Disecoarvol Cía. Ltda. through the evaluation of its macro and micro environment for the future construction of a business model framed in the expansion of the recycled PET processing plant, adapting to the needs of the company and the environment in which it operates.

The study begins with the identification of public and private companies that purchase products made with non-hazardous solid waste in the city of Cuenca, with the help of primary and secondary information sources. The methodology to be used is the one suggested by Michael Porter where the purpose is to achieve the adhesion of the key elements of the business such as suppliers, work team, investors and customers in order to identify the competitive advantages in the value chain. Finally, a business model is proposed to facilitate decision- making, based on the strategic, operational and financial analysis of the organization.
