Violencia en el noviazgo adolescente del cantón Cuenca

Abstract

Adolescence is a stage of transformations, which, among other particularities, is characterized by the formation of affective relationships. In some cases adolescents are involved in situations of violence, which could affect their relationships in the adult phase. Recent studies conducted about this topic have instigated scientific interest about reciprocal violence in couples at younger ages. The present study used a quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive design which aim was to identify the incidence of violence in adolescent relationships. The version adapted by Fernández-Fuentes (2006) of the CADRI (2001) scale, which evaluates violence committed and suffered in men and women, was used. 242 students aged between 15 and 17, of whom 54% (130) were men, and 46% (112) were women participated in this study. The results revealed the existence of different forms of violence in the relationship, in which verbal-emotional violence revealed the highest incidence both in committed violence (46%) and suffered violence (47%), both in men and women.
