La Sexualidad como actividad laboral, cotidianidad e implicaciones socioculturales de la ciudad de Cuenca 2004-2005

Abstract

It is said that the objective is to give a response and rescue sexuality as a work activity, a way of family survival, knowledge of the implications that are derived in the labor, economic and socio-cultural field. It is aimed at rescuing the role of sex workers, knowing their daily lives, feelings and the analysis of this socially stigmatized activity as a work alternative and strategy of survival and satisfaction of basic needs. It performs a historical analysis of prostitution, prostitution as a work activity with all the components: work environment, object, means of protection, dangerous processes in which they are exposed, health-disease profile derived from the exercise of this activity. The sector 9 of October as a work environment used by 20 sex workers who were seen as samples of study and description of sexuality. The results that show the development and the labor process, identify the components of the process, social stigmas, the presence of dangerous processes and the social and family conflicts they face as well as the health profile - disease characterized by the presence of Venereal diseases: Sifilia, gonorea, unwanted pregnancies, abortions, traumas, etc. Suggestions are suggested based on the results obtained
