Comportamiento sexual y reproductivo de los estudiantes de la carrera de Medicina, Facultad de Ciencias Médicas, Universidad de Cuenca, en el año 2015, Cuenca

Abstract

The sexual and reproductive health establishes a fundamental axis in the biological, psychological and social development of a human being, the unawareness and the lack of information put at risk the correct development of men and women in society, it limits their aspirations and goals and favors family destructuration. OBJECTIVE: Identify the sexual and reproductive behavior of the medicine career students at Universidad de Cuenca, to provide reality and analyze possible solutions within the obtained results. MATERIALS AND METHODS: It’s a descriptive study made in 201, which sample was obtained through the randomization of conglomerates. The compilation of information was realized through a questionnaire. The sample was conformed by 179 students, with a 95% level of trust and a standard error of 5%. The data was deposited and analyzed on the statistic program Epi Info 7. RESULTS: 24,14% started their sexual activity at 18 years old. The 48.6% have had sexual relationships. The 82.76% referred they have used contraceptive methods. CONCLUSIONS: It is evident that despite the availability of resources to access to health services; knowledge about preventing pregnancy and contraceptive uses, there are still students who need training in this area
